INGREDIENTS
5 dcl whole milk
2 heaped teaspoons unflavored black tea
2 anise stars (+ extra for decoration)
2 small sticks Ceylon cinnamon
1 level teaspoons cardamom seeds
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
30g good quality honey (or 45g erythritol) (optional)
PREPARATION
- Pour milk into a small cooking pot, add spices (except vanilla) and tea. Bring the mixture almost to a boil, then reduce the temperature and cook all together for 15 minutes so that steam is coming out of the pan, but the mixture does not boil. Stir occasionally.
- After cooking, set the pot aside, add sweetener and vanilla, mix and pour through a strainer into two cups.
- You can add one or two anise stars to each cup of tea and serve.
NOTES
– If you want frothed tea, instead of pouring it into cups, first pour it into a blender and mix it. Then pour it into cups.
– If you want a more traditionally spiced tea, add freshly ground white pepper and freshly grated ginger instead of vanilla and anise.
