INGREDIENTS

5 dcl whole milk

2 heaped teaspoons unflavored black tea

2 anise stars (+ extra for decoration)

2 small sticks Ceylon cinnamon

1 level teaspoons cardamom seeds

1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

30g good quality honey (or 45g erythritol) (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Pour milk into a small cooking pot, add spices (except vanilla) and tea. Bring the mixture almost to a boil, then reduce the temperature and cook all together for 15 minutes so that steam is coming out of the pan, but the mixture does not boil. Stir occasionally.
  1. After cooking, set the pot aside, add sweetener and vanilla, mix and pour through a strainer into two cups.
  1. You can add one or two anise stars to each cup of tea and serve.

NOTES

– If you want frothed tea, instead of pouring it into cups, first pour it into a blender and mix it. Then pour it into cups.

– If you want a more traditionally spiced tea, add freshly ground white pepper and freshly grated ginger instead of vanilla and anise.
