INGREDIENTS 

1.25 dcl freshly squeezed blackcurrant juice

3.75 dcl water

50g good-quality honey (or 75g ground erythritol)

1 tablespoon currant liqueur (optional)

fresh or frozen black currants (for garnish)

 

PREPARATION 

  1. Pour the juice, water, sweetener and liqueur into a deep plate, mix well and place in the freezer for 2 hours.
  1. When the juice starts to freeze, scrape it with a fork to get tiny crystals. Place the plate back in the freezer for one hour. After one hour, scrape again and freeze for another hour.
  1. After one hour, scrape again, transfer to glasses, garnish with currants and serve immediately.

 

NOTES

– Granita can also be prepared from 6 dcl of purchased 25% juice for a faster and easier version.
