Many people who read my book contact me and praise the book. They get inspired by the knowledge and the message of the book and they decide they want me to counsel or train them in person or from afar. I usually recognize most of the things they are doing wrong and not achieving the results that they want right from the start. I slowly begin to point them at their weak points and advise them on corrections they must make. But then the interesting part begins. Some of them seem surprised and tell me that that is not written in the book or that some other coach/trainer/teacher is doing this differently or that they have done it differently in the past and got results. Let’s address all three of the arguments.

1. If you’ve got results in the past it means you’ve already figured it out what works for you. To seek a different path now really makes little sense. Usually, the ego is the problem here. A person thinks that there must be some other (quicker or easier) path towards the same goal. And even if it does find what he or she thinks is a quicker way it again thinks there must be another path which is even faster. Do you see the pattern here? Such a person never really achieves anything important or lasting because he is not willing to dedicate himself to a certain path as long as it takes.

2. In almost everything, there certainly exist more than one path towards a single goal. But in reality, you cannot exist on two different paths simultaneously. Therefore to follow two different methods/instructions/teacher which are incompatible or even merge them and try to invent something new before you acquire a deep understanding of what you are doing is a recipe for disaster. But if you want to learn from some other person or do some other method then do it. Don’t come to me and say this or that person is doing something different so why don’t we try it that way.

3. Any book is a dead thing and you and I are living beings. Which means the book always tells the same story but individuals are constantly changing. Therefore you cannot expect the same thing from a book or a living person. Everything written in the book are just guidelines with which you can experiment on your own. But if you come to me then you must be prepared to start doing all the things that you haven’t done until now (obviously that is why you didn’t get results) because you ignored, overlooked or were unaware of them. If you got results yourself then you certainly would not need anybody.

We can figure out all the things above ourselves if we have the right motivation, are just willing to ask ourselves the right questions and are prepared to stop lying to ourselves. Nobody is keeping you in denial. You are keeping yourself oblivious. If someone shows or tells you the right path and you are not willing to work or accept that then that is a sure sign you want to stay in self-denial. Just don’t run around then telling everybody what a victim of circumstances you are. You’re wasting someone else’s time and draining their energy.
